Exchange with GFBio data experts

On June 11, Research Data Day took place at the University of Bremen for the third time. Under the slogan “FAIR future skills,” students, researchers, and interested parties were able to build and expand their knowledge on the topic of research data management. The event was organised by the U Bremen Research Alliance (UBRA) and the DataNord data competence center. GFBio was represented with several activities: at the DataBar, data experts welcomed participants and answered questions about data from the field of biodiversity research and ecology, as well as about GFBio services. Various consortia, including NFDI4Biodiversity, offered a joint information booth.
Searching for clues at the WiNoDa Knowledge Lab

The WiNoDa Knowledge Lab was represented at the FAIRPlay Station. Participants were able to identify objects from the paleontological collection of the Museum of Natural History with the help of the Data Detective game. The special features of collection-related object data could also be explored in the interactive exhibition “Data Clues.”
Strengthening RDM activities in Bremen

In addition to offering services to members of the University of Bremen, the event served to promote networking between projects and initiatives in the field of research data management. MARUM – Center for Marine Environmental Sciences, the Leibniz Center for Tropical Marine Research (ZMT), and Pangaea, with whom GFBio works closely, were among those represented at Research Data Day.
