GFBio Association

GFBio Association

Founded in 2016

The German Federation for Biological Data is institutionalised

The origins of the GFBio association go back to a special mission to improve the data basis for biodiversity research: The ‘German Federation for Biological Data’ was launched as a project consortium in 2013 with 19 partners and funding from the German Research Foundation. It´s mission was to create a central contact point for the professional management of biological data in Germany. In 2016, an association was founded under German law to operate the developed service portfolio sustainably and under joint responsibility.
